There’s a plethora of oils used in skincare these days, but not all of them are backed by science. Jojoba oil is one of the few with scientific studies supporting its use.
Jojoba oil is actually a wax, which is extracted from the seeds of the jojoba plant. It contains natural antioxidants, including vitamin E. It’s anti-inflammatory, emollient, and helps to improve skin hydration, acne and skin barrier function. It’s suitable for most skin types, but especially those with dry skin or skin prone to acne or rosacea. It’s safe to use daily, is usually well tolerated, and works well with most other ingredients.
