Seborrhoeic keratoses are harmless, rough or warty superficial skin growths that can range in colour from skin coloured to pink to brown or black. They usually appear in adulthood, and may increase in number with age. The exact cause is unknown. Dermatosis papulosis nigra is a variant in which many small, dark seborrhoeic keratoses appear on the face and neck of individuals with skin of colour.
Treatments include cryotherapy, curettage, shave removal, fine wire diathermy, trichloroacetic acid and laser.
